ROSEMARY HERB BREAD
If you love bread, this particular one will go with tons of meals.
You will need:
- 1/2 c olive oil
- 4 1/2 c flower
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 pckg dry active yeast
- 2 tbsp dried italian herbs
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley (finely chopped)
- 2 tbsp fresh rosemary (finely chopped)
- 1 tbsp garlic (minced)
- 2 c warm water
In a medium bowl add warm water, sugar and yeast. Let sit for 10 minutes. Add salt, dried and fresh herbs to 4 c flour and stir into water mixture. I like to use a fork for this. Top with 1/4 c olive oil.
Cover and let sit in a warm place for at least 2 hrs. Your dough should double or triple in size depending on how long it sits. Once its doubled dump onto a greased cookie sheet. Use the rest of your olive oil to grease the sheet and add more to the top of the dough. Gently press and stretch dough out to the corners of a 9×13 pan. Make dimple marks in the top of the dough with your fingertips. Bake at 400 Degrees for about 20 min. It really depends on how hot your oven gets and how fast it cooks. I usually just watch it and once its browned I pull it out. This bread is great with spaghetti, soups and stews
